About Us....

IMP UK have been servicing the Ice Industry with media rich online marketing solutions for 10 years. Our clients are some of the largest suppliers of Ice Leisure in Europe and as such, we have unrivalled knowledge and experience within both Ice Sports, Learn to Skate, Public Skate, and Ice related events. IMP are considered to be the first organisation in the UK to work with dynamic web interfaces, online database management, and media rich content. Originally the company developed websites for Planet Ice and a commercial online offering for British ice hockey. IMP continued to develop through the years extending its client basis and developing marketing solutions for its clients. This involved incorporating distinctive designs for flyers, posters, and online advertising for splash pages and e-shots for clients such as Planet Ice and Silver Blades.
IMP UK first evolved from the varied skill base of MD Heath Rhodes. Originally the company developed web sites for Planet Ice (1998) and a commercial online offering for British Ice Hockey called Ice Hockey League. Having established strong online identities - IMP UK was formed and set about utilising its skill base in video production to produce a 5 segment, weekly, hour long show, featuring key games of professional Ice Hockey from the Elite League. The show was initially broadcast on subscription based channel NASN (North American Sports Network), and later was taken up by Setanta. The same format exists today on SKY Sports Extra.
As a result of proven success in streaming sports content to an emerging new audience, Heath Rhodes was asked to represent Ice Hockey at an open forum staged at the Emirates Stadium in London and presented by the largest content streaming organisation in Europe. Representing both the sport and IMP, Heath conversed in front of an audience of around 2000 people from all over Europe representing SKY, Virgin, AC Milan, Everton, Manchester United TV, Celtic, Barcelona… name just a few.
In 2007, IMP UK had extended its ice related portfolio to a new ice skating brand called Silver Blades and was appointed as key consultants to them as well Planet Ice. IMP began to develop strong and effective marketing solutions for both Planet Ice and Silver Blades incorporating distinctive designs for flyers, posters, and online advertising for splash pages and e-shots. IMP also successfully pitched to Warner Brothers in London to bring some of their characters to life, on ice, in the form of a 'Disney On Ice' style touring show.
At this point IMP won the contract to support NISA (National Ice Skating Association) in the development of a totally new online commercial offering. The new developments incorporated an online store and video streaming interface. IMP had already proved itself very successful in video streaming when the company streamed the 2005 EIHL Playoffs from Nottingham Arena to an audience in excess of 6,000 people from 11 different countries, 2006 World Extreme Ice Skating Championships from Moscow, and also a streaming platform for the EIHL that played live and on demand content from both the UK as well as the USA, and parts of Europe including Germany, France, and Sweden. The contract with NISA meant that as well as creating a powerful web presence, IMP were now delivering 7 National Ice Skating events each year both live, on demand, and also pressed to DVD.
By 2008 IMP were producing and streaming live and pre-recorded content for the English Premier Ice Hockey League, Elite Ice Hockey League, National Ice Skating Association of which included the British Figure Skating Championships, British Adult Championships, British Synchro Championships, British Solo Dance Championships, and Junior Grand Prix's.
In the same year the company extended its portfolio into performance and brought the hugely successful ice show 'Art on Ice' to the UK for the first time. The show was staged at Sheffield Arena and included all current or former World and Olympic Champions Evgeny Plushenko, Sinead and John Kerr, Jenna McCorkell, Fiona Zaldua and Dmitri Sukhanov, Aliona Savchenko and Robin Szolkowy- they skated to the live music of Chris de Burgh. Building on the success of 2008, IMP produced 'Art on Ice' in the UK again in 2009 this time featuring many new skating stars including Shizuka Arakawa, and StephaneLambiel, to the live music of Ronan Keating.
In the remaining years so far IMP has developed many new products and online solutions that make the world of ice commercially more effective and aware of its potential to reach out to an emerging audience who want to engage both for pleasure and competitively. Amongst those developments IMP created an online audio streaming solution, initially for ice rinks, that allowed operators to play music non-stop into its rinks alongside professionally produced advertising to inform their customers of existing and future events and promotions. The product, known today as I-FM (was IceFM), has a library of over 75,000 tracks across multiple genres including Current Chart, Rock, Classical, Dance/Electronic, 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and 00's, plus music for every seasonal occasion. With their professional team IMP produce commercial advertising that sends a message direct to the core audience which includes information on Learn to Skate courses, Birthday Party packages, seasonal promotions, operating hours, plus the opportunity to earn from selling space to other related businesses such as Skating clubs and Ice Hockey Teams who may also want to talk to the same audience. Music and Advertising can be delivered at exact times within the day to ensure ultimate effectiveness and pleasure for the audience.
RinkRatz is an online store that offers casual wear for both competitive and pleasure skaters. The store boasts customers such as Sinead Kerr, Vicky Ogden, and Jenna McCorkell. The store sells a range of functional and exciting wear with the skater in mind.

They placed 10th at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy, and 8th at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada, Mark Hanretty – together with Christina Chitwood, Hanretty was ranked 3rd overall in the NISA National Rankings 2009/2010 which is based upon the personal best scores achieved by the skaters during the 2009/2010 season, and Diane Entwistle- a former British masters ice dance champion, and the first person in the country to get a PhD in the Olympic sport.
